Bright Matter S&E acquires Boston Shamrocks Girls

March 24, 2024 (Boston)

Bright Matter Sports & Entertainment announced today the addition of the Boston Shamrocks Girls program to their portfolio.

This marks the third owner/operator transaction this year for the sports management company, which previously founded the Boston Imperials (2019) and the Boston Hockey Academy (2020). Additionally, they operated the Imperials girls’ program for three seasons from 2020 to 2022.

"We are thrilled to add such a storied program with a rich history to our portfolio. We promise to honor the legacy of its past while simultaneously building and implementing our elevated platform for student-athletes and participants across all our programs," stated Dennis Franczak, CEO.

Bob Rotondo, founder of the Shamrocks girls’ program, commented, "I've been working with the team at Bright Matter Sports & Entertainment for a few years now, dating back to 2019. I find them to be professional, strong communicators, who are focused on enhancing the players' experience. I'm happy to join the team and contribute my 40 years of experience."

The Boston Shamrocks will launch a new website (www.boston-shamrocks.com) and are recruiting players for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 across the 12U, 14U, 16U, and 19U age groups. Additionally, they will be adding 8U and 10U foundation programming this fall, and look forward to announcing the specifics in the coming weeks.

New coaches joining the program include Alexa Hingston (Malden Catholic), Nikki Petrich (Canton High School), Mark Russo (Arlington High School), and Natalie Flynn (Arlington Catholic). Discussions regarding new roles within the organization are ongoing and will be announced as we bring them on board.

Lisa DeRosa, Director of Program Operations for Bright Matter Sports & Entertainment, will assume the role of interim program director until a new director is named within the next two weeks.
